Back story for the “The Oakenheart’s Promise” and the World of Mythor:
The Goddess Milinaia (The Lady) looks upon the world of Mythor. The World Mother had expended much to create it. She has brought her greatest heroes and strongest races from all her other worlds for this defense. Badly weakened and fading the World Mother passed the world’s responsibility to Milinaia, giving her four sisters to control the four elements to build and sustain the world of Mythor. Her instructions were to guide this world to be the last stand and keep her brother the World Eater from the rest of her creations. This world was her mother’s greatest achievement, and in creating it, her greatest risk to the rest of the worlds she created. See, Mythor has Phase door portals to the other worlds from where she transported all her greatest creations. Once these doors are created they can only be destroyed for a short time before they heal. This world is her final attempt to stop and maybe destroy the World Eater. No other world has survived his invasion. The World Eater had almost succeeded in destroying Mythor’s ability to defeat him by influencing the Cities of Askier and Blaow to rebel and destroy their Obelisk sites. This caused a great cataclysm called the Breaking, and nearly destroyed much of the world, plunging it into a dark age. It also caused the loss of three of her sisters, the Demigoddess Furia, Atmos, and Aqua. In their anger at the blasphemy of Askier and Blaow they attacked those cities and increased the destruction, and in the devastation expended too much energy and disappeared after their great attacks. Milinaia and her remaining sister the Demigoddess Eratha worked tirelessly to save and rebuild as much as possible.
Over a couple centuries with great effort the Oakenheart family again rose and led the world back on track to defend itself. The Emperor Oakenheart concurred or coaxed the Races and Guilds together and created a Great Council. He then abdicated allowing for the council to lead the known world. The people were not ready to give up their Greatest Protector and so he swore an oath on an Earth Stone Tablet that an Oakenheart would always rise to defend Mythor in its greatest need. There was peace and prosperity for over 200 years under the Great Council. Again with the World Eaters influence his new servant the Wizard Reno in a well laid plan destroyed all known Oakenheart descendants as well as the leaders of all the Guilds and the Council in one night. He did not however gain the greatest prize of the Earth Stone Tablet. During the attack the Guardians of the stone broke the tablet into 12 pieces and scattered with them. This plunged the world into a twenty year war against Reno at great cost to the people of Mythor. In the end their forces were victorious and the World of Mythor finally rid itself of the Evil Wizard Reno. General Tamlin, a hero of many battles, was appointed interim King until a new Great Council could be put in place. This was to be temporary, but the races and Guilds were so decimated from the war that after nearly 40 years the factions have still not come together in council. Now the World Eater is close to a solution in entering Mythor but a new Oakenheart has been born. This Oakenheart is powerful and gifted enough that with his companions he has the ability to bring the world together again. Leading them to become a force formidable enough to be able to face the World Eater and defeat him and his servants once and for all. The World Eater knows of him and his companions and is bringing all of his remaining allies in this world against them. Soon his experiments will allow him to find a way to assume a new form and cross through. All of the World Mother and her daughters plans and hopes rest with Alex Thornlin Oakenheart and the World of Mythor.
